 During the week of July 21, 2025, Furnish Together hosted its 2nd Annual Conference with over 40 furniture banks attending in person or online. Plus,  the first-ever policy summit to combat furniture poverty. The event put a national spotlight on the issue, armed with powerful data showing 1 in 3 Americans lack essential furniture. The coalition is uniting furniture banks nationwide to advocate for policies that help turn empty houses into homes.

The Furniture Gap: Solving A Hidden Crisis For American Families, article by Forbes

 "Furniture poverty" is a hidden crisis affecting one in three U.S. residents, where families secure housing but lack the resources for essential items like beds and tables, which undermines their stability and well-being. To address this gap, a national coalition of nonprofits called Furnish Together is uniting furniture banks to raise awareness and create a system for redistributing donated goods, turning empty spaces into dignified homes.
